Project Athena - Day 80 (Barns)

Old Red Barn

It’s our challenges and obstacles that give us layers of depth and make us interesting. Are they fun when they happen? No. But they are what make us unique. And that’s what I know for sure... I think.
— Ellen DeGeneres

It was a great day to be out scouting for barns even though the skies were grey and the rain poured down. Somehow, it always stopped raining when I found a place to shoot. This picture is my favorite of the day. Normally, this shot would be next to impossible because of the obstacles and challenges of being on a high traffic road with no place to park a car much less safely stand with a camera and tripod as cars whiz past at 50miles per hour. But today, everything was orchestrated perfectly for me as the road was closed for construction. I know that the thousands of commuters who use this road everyday are not smiling with me over the road closure but I was able to pull the car to the side, get out without fear of risking my life and shoot away.

As for the barn, I don't know much about this one except it looks old...and it's red.
