Project Athena - Day 203 (Lights)

A Warm Bath on a Cold Night

I briefly considered taking a day or two off from the project over the holidays. I don't really know why other than it is just programmed into my thought patterns somewhere that the holidays mean pause or deactivate from habitual behaviors. However, when I bypassed the programming, I realized that I am actually feeling very inspired to shoot, to create, to write, to try new things, and to keep opening to and allowing for the possibility that I can be wildly successful as a photographer.

This shot did not come out exactly like I imagined it would but the bath afterwards was a prize winning soak!

Project Athena - Day 202 (Lights)

This Little Light of Mine...

This evening, I lit a very significant oil lamp that has not been fired up in over 15 years. This brass lantern was a purchase I made back when I was 20 years old and barely had two nickles to rub together. I was resolved even then that I would always have a light in my home, even if the power failed or the batteries in the flashlight grew dim. This pragmatic curio has served me well over the years, adorning a shelf in every home I've ever lived in. It has provided me with a sense of security, a light to find my way and a reminder that I am also a light in this world. I intend on keeping it to the end and then passing it on to my son so that he too may always have a light shining shining on his path and a reminder of the gorgeous light he is in this world.

Silent Night!

Wow! Day 200 on the Eve of Christmas. Happy Holidays Friends and Family. May this light bring you warmth and a special holiday miracle of your own choosing! For me, the miracle is that I have come this far in my photography and that I was able to achieve the exact bokeh effect (if you are a photography buff, you either know what that means or you will go research the term) I wanted the first time around! Yay Me!

Silent NIght. Holy NIght.
