Fountain of Dreams

Today concludes the water theme with this picture of the fountain located at Civic Center Park in Loveland. There is something about a fountain that I find exhilarating. It's like an explosion of pure energy, reaching for the sky without a single thought or care about what is happening, what it may look like, or where it will land. In every moment, there is a different formation made from all the tiny drops of water that dance in mid-air. The camera allows me to capture just one of those moments.

Home Sweet Home!

Back home in Loveland and feeling very grateful for everything, especially water. I have been wanting to photograph Lake Loveland for a long time because it is so beautiful in the early summer and every sunset is unique. Hope you enjoy this picture and if you live in the area, hope you can get out and enjoy the real thing.

Project Athena - Day 19 (Water)

Mesa Verde National Park, Seep Spring

Wow! Such an amazing day crawling around the ruins and climbing ladders where the Ancestral Puebloans once lived.

Water was very scarce today. Amazingly, the residents of the alcoves who lived here over 700 years ago, had a continuous water source known as seep springs. These springs are found where the water emerges from the cliff face, directly above the shale layer. Our ranger and guide told us all the springs are very low this year. This was the only one where I found water.

Grateful for all I have experienced this day (and for not totally freaking out on the 30 foot ladder and requiring an emergency rescue.)

A relaxing day in Durango, CO as I rafted down a mild stretch of the Animas River. The water was a cool 45 degrees and very refreshing. This was taken from a foot bridge that spans the river. I saw canoes, kayaks, rafts, and tubes today along with a few fun homemade crafts. I could get used to living here, easily.
