It's A Girl!

Today was my first day of actually shooting with my new camera and can I just say "Holy F^%*ING S##T, SHE'S SWEET!"

Yes, it's a girl her name is Sophie. We had a wonderful "birthing ceremony" for her yesterday and she is as thrilled to be here with me as I am to have her. I am deeply grateful for the timing of her arrival too as the Nikon body let me know he was going into retirement soon when the lenses stopped auto-focusing for some mysterious reason. It's all good though. I know I had definitely outgrown that camera and it was time to take this next step. Sophie and I have some big dreams and want to get out there shooting, so here we go.

I attempted this shot during food week several months back but I could never quite get the composition or reflections the way I wanted with the spices. So, today, I tried again and am really loving the results. No post processing necessary this was just straight out of the camera!
